The Al Jazeera Network reports that the Israeli police raided its premises in occupied East Jerusalem, and satellite and cable providers cut Al Jazeera's broadcast on 5 May 2024. Replacing the broadcast were statements such as: “In accordance with the government decision, the Al Jazeera station’s broadcasts have been stopped in Israel.”

The Al Jazeera Network has released a statement condemning Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet unanimously voted to shut down operations in Israel as a "criminal act," and its suppression of the free press is against international and humanitarian law.

The decision also entails withdrawing crew accreditations, banning media service providers from broadcasting the channel, and banning the Al Jazeera Media Network's website.
