Qatar Airways has announced the resumption of its flights to Lisbon, Portugal, as part of its efforts to strengthen its global network of destinations for the year 2024, which encompasses more than 170 destinations. Commencing on June 6, 2024, the national carrier of the State of Qatar will operate four weekly flights to the Portuguese capital using a Boeing B787-8 aircraft.

Lisbon serves as an ideal gateway for travelers keen on exploring the distinctive landmarks and historical sites that Portugal has to offer. Adventure enthusiasts can venture into the medieval city of Sintra, home to the Quinta de Regaleira Palace, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Additionally, travelers can take a train ride from Lisbon to visit the renowned Pena National Palace, famed for its vibrant colors inspired by the lush surrounding flora, reports Al-Jarida daily.

Thierry Antinori, Chief Commercial Officer at Qatar Airways, expressed his pleasure at the announcement, highlighting the significance of resuming flights to Lisbon as part of the airline’s continuous expansion plans across Europe.

He emphasized that Qatar Airways passengers will now have the opportunity to explore both Qatar and Portugal, with the added convenience of seamless connectivity to destinations across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and the Indian subcontinent through Hamad International Airport. Antinori also noted the exceptional amenities offered at the airport, including Qatar Duty Free shopping experiences and premium lounges for travelers.
