Qatar Airways Group employees collaborated to demonstrate their unified support for cancer awareness through a series of events aimed at both raising awareness and collecting funds for cancer research.

Diverse events were organized to raise funds and awareness, involving employees from Qatar Airways' headquarters in Doha and various global offices. The funds amassed comprised personal contributions from employees, positioning Qatar Airways Group as a leading corporate contributor and advocate for the Qatar Cancer Society (QCS).

The CEO of Qatar Airways Group, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer, personally met with the Chairman of the Qatar Cancer Society, H E Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Jabr Al Thani, to present a donation cheque and commend the employees for their proactive involvement in this initiative.

Al Meer expressed his pride in the unity demonstrated by Qatar Airways Group in raising awareness about breast cancer, setting an example to inspire the communities they serve and expressing care and empathy for those affected. The collective efforts of employees broke previous fundraising records, resulting in over QAR300,000 in donations for the Qatar Cancer Society.

He emphasized the importance of education and awareness in the global efforts to eradicate this devastating disease, with the hope of reaching as many people as possible—employees and passengers alike—to save lives through vital information about symptoms and treatments.

QCS Chairman Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Jabr Al Thani acknowledged the Group's Annual Breast Cancer Campaign as a leading initiative in local CSR efforts, aiming to develop society by spreading awareness, promoting early detection, and providing support for cancer patients and survivors. He praised the collaboration with Qatar Airways Group and its dedicated employees for inspiring purpose-driven action and raising awareness about the disease, encouraging other entities and individuals in Qatar to support the "Blossom" campaign launched by QCS each October.

As part of the campaign, employees were offered complimentary ultrasound scans and mammograms by qualified medical professionals, coupled with awareness sessions on early detection and prevention of cancer.

Additional activities promoting general health and fitness included a three-day 'Fly for Pink' fitness event featuring spin bike, sit-up, and dumbbell challenges, a dragon boat racing challenge with the Doha Wireless Warriors—an organization supporting cancer survivors, tailored women's yoga sessions addressing women's health issues, and the highly anticipated annual Charity Bazaar.

Qatar Airways' commitment to breast cancer awareness has been recognized with the Gold Award for the 'Best Social Media Campaign – Breast Cancer Awareness Month,' highlighting the company's achievements in maintaining employee engagement across its diverse international workforce. The airline has also received global recognition as the top corporate company on social media channels at the International Brilliance Awards.
