On 19 March 2024, Airline Ratings announced Qatar Airways as the winner of the “Best Catering Award for 2024” category of its annual Airline Excellence Awards.

The Editor in Chief Geoffrey Thomas expressed, “no matter what class you fly Qatar Airways’ food offering is superb”.

It was also mentioned that the presentation and delivery of meals are outstanding, and the airline has no less than 18 special meal options.

Airline Ratings also appreciated that First and Business Class passengers have the choice to pre-select a meal and can have the meal whenever they wish on board.

It was also mentioned that the judges were impressed with the taste, freshness, and presentation of the food and stated that the premium class food is easily restaurant standard, which also sets a high standard for the service and food in economy class.

Geoffrey Thomas also mentioned that Economy Class passengers had positive feedback as well about the catering, pointing out that this is at a time when airlines are typically cutting costs and providing substandard meal boxes.
