Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 145 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 123 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 139,042.

Out of the 145 new cases, 105 are community cases and 40 from travellers returning from abroad.

The Ministry also announced one death - aged 84 - who was receiving the necessary medical care.

The total death in Qatar as of today is 242.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 141,417 and there are 2,133 active cases under treatment.

4,205 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (10,762 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,180,038 tests.

There are 20 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total number of patients in the hospital to 229.

No patient was admitted to intensive care, and 19 people are receiving medical attention in ICU.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

- Adherence to physical distancing

- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate

- Wearing a face mask

- Washing hands regularly
