Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 229 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 267 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 120,089.

Out of the 229 new cases, 208 are community cases and 21 from travellers returning from abroad.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 123,146 and there are 2848 active cases under treatment. So far, 209 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.

Ministry conducted 4874 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 719,057 tests. There are 40 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total patients in the hospital to 414.

Five patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 58.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
- Adherence to physical distancing.
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.
- Wearing a face mask.
- Washing hands regularly
