Beginning Thursday, Qatar's closed public places will be required to wear face masks.
According to Qatari media, the decision was reached after the Qatari Cabinet reviewed a report from the Ministry of Public Health regarding recent Coronavirus developments.
Qatar removed masks from closed places as part of an effort to ease restrictions last May. Public transportation and health institutions were the only places where masks could be worn at the time.
Moreover, in May, the government announced that employees working outdoors would no longer be required to wear masks.
For COVID-19 verification, citizens and foreign residents were required to continue downloading the Ehetraz app on their mobile devices indoors.
