ICBF Re-launched Life Insurance Scheme For Indian Community Members

Doha: ICBF has re-launched its well-received and much-awaited ICBF Life Insurance Scheme in association with Damaan Islamic Insurance Company (Beema), after a break of few months due to the Covid 19 situation.

The program enrolls all Indian nationals resident in Qatar for the Life Insurance program with the coverage of QAR 100,000 for two years period with a premium of just QAR 125.

The scheme was started in December 2019 and in a short span of time, the scheme became very popular amongst the Indian diaspora community and people joined the scheme en masse. Many Indian companies too conducted campaigns to get their staff enrolled in the program apart from Indian associations who were campaigning to get maximum members enrolled as this is a unique program that provides maximum benefits for a very low cost.

President, ICBF, P N Baburajan said that “Community is eagerly waiting for the Insurance Scheme to restart as many people realized the value of such a scheme provided by ICBF for a very low cost and we are glad to restart it now, so the community members and families benefit from it”

ICBF Head of Media & Development Juttas Paul mentioned that “in a short span of few months already we have received 8 claims out of which four has claim distribution have completed and other claims are in progress. Though it is painful that few of those took the insurance have passed away, the Scheme could provide some immediate finance relief to their family members during this difficult time.”

The scheme also covers permanent or partial disability up to the maximum covered amount depends on the severity of the disability. ICBF intends to ensure maximum participation from Indian community to join for the insurance program, where the premium is as low as QAR 125 for two years term.
