An NBC 6 report on 10 November 2023 reported that Ahmed Ali, 32, a resident of Qatar, was shot and killed outside a Florida gas station on 7 November 2023. According to the report, the shooter is still on the run.

Ali and his wife flew from Qatar to Miami on vacation, according to a relative of the deceased.

According to NBC 6, Ali was shot outside a Raceway on Northwest 7th Avenue and 183rd Street when he stepped outside to visit his friend, who works as a manager at the gas station.

The report states that Ali's wife was not with him when he was shot, but she arrived soon after. The relative described Ali as "quiet, responsible and a family man with a smile you couldn't forget" and that the family wanted answers and justice.

According to the report, police have not indicated whether this shooting was targeted or not.

Journalist, Ola Diab has also mentioned in her tweet that Ahmed Ali was a resident of Qatar and had worked hard during the World Cup to be able to travel to the US with his wife. Prior to his death, he had been there for a week.
