The General Authority of Customs (GAC) reported the successful processing of 274,865 customs declarations across Qatar's ports in November 2023, according to the Customs newsletter for December 2023.

In the breakdown of statistics, Air Cargo led with 166,907 completed declarations, followed by Maritime Customs Administration with 12,104 and Land Customs Administration with 6,781. Notably, 97 percent of the data was released within an hour, with a total of 30,633 declarations in custom ports and transfers to government entities during the month.

Top import and export countries were the USA and India, respectively, with 207 seizures recorded in November.

The Ministry of Culture stood out as the most efficient government entity, completing processing within 5.56 hours.

GAC's achievements included receiving the excellence certificate at the 'Digital Government Award for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries' in the 'Best Use of Artificial Intelligence in Government Services' category for the 'Al Nadeeb' program.

This program, part of the 'Single Window for Electronic Customs Clearance,' reached the final stage among the top three entities in the category.

The GAC, recognized for its efforts in securing passenger and goods entry, trade facilitation, and collaboration with various entities, continues to enhance its procedures. Initiatives such as the Al Nadeeb customs clearance system, import for re-export, ATA Carnet requirements, electronic bills of lading, approved economic operator program, electronic certificate of origin, and electronic certification of invoices contribute to streamlining trade movements and improving the business environment.
