Resumption of flights between Bahrain and Qatar
The announcement was made by the Civil Aviation Affairs of Bahrain on Monday that the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Qatar will resume flights between the two countries on May 25. The flights will resume according to an agreement signed between the concerned authorities in both countries.
For the purpose of improving relations between the two countries and meeting the common aspirations of their leaders and citizens, flights between the two countries have been resumed.
A boycott against Qatar had been imposed by Bahrain in 2017 following protests during the 2011 Arab Spring. At the beginning of 2021, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt restored ties with Qatar, ending the boycott.
During a meeting between delegations at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) headquarters in Riyadh, the two countries announced their agreement to restore relations.
