The Department of Zakat Affairs at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced the amount of Zakat Al Fitr for the month of Ramadan at 1445 AH. It also urged the public to pay their Zakat Al Fitr on time, noting that it is obligatory for a Muslim, male or female, old or young.

This came during a statement issued by the Department of Zakat Affairs in this regard, in which it specified the amount of Zakat Al Fitr for the month of Ramadan 1445 AH at the equivalent of QR 15, and that it must be paid before the Eid Al Fitr prayer.

The Department of Zakat Affairs noted that the principle of Zakat Al Fitr is to pay it as food from the majority of people’s food, which is rice, and its amount is in the Prophet’s Saa’ of 2.5 kilograms per person. The Department receives Zakat Al Fitr in cash at a value of QR 15 per person and distributes it to those entitled within Qatar.

Those wishing to pay Zakat Al Fitr can go through the administration’s offices and collection points spread throughout the country. Zakat Al Fitr can also be paid by sending a text message containing the letter (Z) to the number 92229 for Ooredoo customers only. They can also pay Zakat Al Fitr through the administration’s application.
