People's patriotic feelings are always brought to the forefront during the Qatar National Day Parade on December 18, which transforms the Doha Corniche into a riot of colours every year.

In solidarity with the Palestinian people under attack by Israeli occupation forces, the QND Parade has been postponed indefinitely this year.

Israel has bombed civilian sites in the Gaza Strip and cut off electricity, water, and emergency medical supplies to the city in recent weeks, increasing the intensity of the attacks.

The official announcement about the parade's postponement was made on Monday by Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense, HE Dr Khaled bin Mohammed Al Attiyah.

In response to a directive from HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the decision was made.

This year's National Day Parade for our armed forces has been postponed based on the directions of HH The Amir. The postponement is the least we can do regarding what is happening to our brothers in Gaza, which is genocide and crimes against humanity," Al Attiyah said.
