According to a senior meteorology official, Qatar's heavy rains are not a sign of climate change. The rains are the heaviest in 60 years.

A torrential downpour and thunder drenched Qatar on Thursday, according to footage posted to social media and news sources in the country. Qatar saw such rains for the first time in July, according to some reports.

Humidity levels and vapour condensation caused clouds to increase and precipitation to become so intense. Qatar's Civil Aviation Authority's Meteorology Department director Abdullah Al Mannai said, "There is no exceptional cause related to climate change behind this."

Climate change is being blamed for it. According to Al Rayan TV, there has been no connection between the two incidents and climate change.

Since 1962, Qatar has not experienced such heavy rainfall in July.

The temperatures will drop next year, but these changes will only last a short time. He added, "This is an exceptional event.".
